Area Control

Compete for influence across the map and hold the regions that score.

Area control games, sometimes called area majority, are about being the strongest presence in a region of the board. Players spread their pieces across territories, and when it is time to score, whoever has the most influence in an area earns the reward. This leads to constant push and pull: do you commit hard to lock down one region, or spread thin to contest several at once? Because everyone is fighting over the same space, these games are full of direct competition, clever timing, and satisfying moments where a late move flips who controls a key area.
